January 2015

We have been having a great time since Christmas break and learning so much!  So far this month, in ELA we have talked about poetry and found rhyming words and the rhythm in poems.  We talked about the story The Mitten and compared different versions, next we will start reading non-fiction stories and talk about Martin Luther King, Jr. and arctic animals.

In math, we just finished with composing and decomposing number and will move into shapes this week!  In science, we have been talking about rocks, soil and water and how they are useful.  In Social Studies we have talked about which holidays are celebrated around the world and how they are celebrated.

I look forward to all of our fun learning the rest of this month!!
